Do you offer virtual tutoring?

Yes. Sessions are available both in person across the Triangle and fully online. Many families combine the two: in person when schedules allow, online when life gets busy. The error-tracking system works exactly the same either way.

What ages and grades do you work with?

I work with motivated middle school and high school students, roughly sixth grade through senior year, across SAT and ACT math prep, algebra, geometry, precalculus, and general math confidence.

How often should students meet with you?

Most SAT students meet once or twice a week leading up to their test date. For ongoing math support, a consistent weekly session usually works best. We will set a cadence that fits your student’s timeline and other commitments.

Do you assign homework between sessions?

Yes, purposefully. Practice between sessions is where improvement actually compounds. Assignments are short, targeted at the patterns we are working on, and built so they reinforce progress rather than feel like busywork.

How soon can scores improve?

Every student is different, but because we target real weaknesses instead of reviewing broadly, progress tends to show up faster. Many students see meaningful movement within a few testing cycles. We track it the whole way so improvement is visible, not assumed.

How does your data-driven tutoring system work?

After a diagnostic test, every missed question is logged and categorized by concept, question pattern, and the type of reasoning error behind it. I use analytical tools to spot recurring patterns in that data, then build each lesson around what it reveals. Meet Your Tutor

Hi, I’m Sophia.

I’m a recent Georgetown University graduate with a degree in economics, and I’ve spent my academic and professional life living in the world of numbers, through coursework in finance, statistics, and economics, and through analytical work in real estate. That background shapes how I tutor: I see math as a system of patterns, not a pile of facts to memorize.

What I love most, though, is the coaching itself. I’m a runner, and I think about tutoring the way I think about training: consistent, measured effort, honest feedback, and small improvements that compound into something a student can feel proud of. Watching a student go from dreading the math section to walking in calm and prepared never gets old.

I built my data-driven tutoring system because I was frustrated by how much test prep relies on guesswork. By tracking exactly which questions a student misses, and why, every session becomes intentional. It’s rigorous, but it’s also warm.
